Classic Airframes 1:48 scale Finnish Brewster Buffalo BW-393. BW-393 was flown by the finnish ace Hans Wind but was lost on 2 July 1944 at Immola after a soviet air raid. Has the orange spinner and orange nr.9 with the 32 victory marks on the tail.
For the build I used CMK engine, cockpit, flaps and some other scratch built parts. The camouflage is painted black and green with the underside painted aluminum followed by a coat of varnish mixed with a very small amount of grey. The green is a mix of vallejo russian green, yellow and olive green.
Diorama made out of wood-strips, magic sculpt and some grass from verlinden. The figures and tools are from Verlinden as well.
The only remaining Brewster Buffalo is BW-372 and can be seen at Tikkakoski air museum in Finland, but its only a loan and will return to an american museum soon.
The excellent engine from CMK and you can see the armored plate in the seat that the finns added to protect the pilot.
Verlinden toolbox and etched tools look great in this little diorama.
BW-372 at the Tikkakoski museum. Excellent condition even if it was pulled up from a russian lake.
